Experience for a Summer, Skills for a Lifetime

Before Southwestern Advantage, I was a shy college freshman looking for a season of personal growth. My résumé was nearly empty, and I knew how important internships would be. When COVID canceled my plans to study abroad, take summer classes, and travel with family, I chose a challenge far outside my comfort zone: door-to-door sales.

The program was tough, but I learned that with strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and coachability, growth follows. I entered the summer worried I’d be the weakest on the team, but finished as a top rookie, but more importantly, a more confident version of myself.

Today, I recruit because I believe in the impact of this program. I’m grateful for the mentors who invested in me, and I’m passionate about mentoring students to become more disciplined, confident, and prepared for future opportunities. It’s not for everyone, but it can be a great fit for the right person. If you’re curious, I’m here to answer questions and help you decide if this makes sense for you—no pressure either way.
